Lisa Gabbard, B.S.E.E. – Lower Primary

Mission of Our Class - Lower Primary
  • Learning is a lifelong process and that all students learn in different ways.
  • Parents and teachers share the responsibility to help children reach their potential.
  • A safe and positive environment is essential in encouraging growth and development.

Lisa is the Lead Teacher of the lower level primary students. Each child’s individualized educational planning at this grade level prescribes highly structured, multi-sensory, systematic instruction.

She works face-to-face with each student to ensureeach child progresses at his or her optimal pace within their individualized learning plan.

Lisa works with her students in the areas of initiative and interpersonal relations, numbering, movement, creative representation, music, art, language and literacy.

She teaches each student, from this first structured early learning start, how to work on any differences with their kind of mind because different minds are good at different kinds of work.

As we discover more about how different minds learn differently, Lisa has been given a golden opportunity to mold these young minds and begin to fully prepare them to experience their first true academic, school-based success.

A graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Lisa has a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and holds Tennessee teacher certification.

Lisa has 13 years of prior work experience having taught Kindergarten through Grade 3 in schools in Ohio and Tennessee. She was a previous Director of the Cookeville YMCA Before and After School Program and a professional aerobics and dance instructor.

Lisa has a true passion for teaching children and also has a personal “fire” to exceed her own expectations along with a great compassion for impacting the lives of others.

She is married to a contractor and has a 9-year old daugther. They live on a farm with three ponies.
