Kristie Jones, B.S.C.F.E.
Lead Teacher – PreK

Kristie is the Lead Teacher of the PreK level grade students. Children at this age are like sponges. They soak up everything we do and everything we say. They’re learning from us all the time whether or not we realize we are teaching them.

Kristie works with her students in the areas of: 1) Orientation – demonstrating the relationships between one’s body and various sensory inputs, 2) Gross Motor – motor tasks on verbal instruction, 3) Visual-Fine Motor – coordination of visual inputs and fine motor outputs, 4) Sequential – ability to process information and carry out actions in a specific serial order, 5) Linguistic – both receptive and expressive vocabulary, 6) Preacademic Learning – what they need to know to be successful in school, 7) Selective Attention – activity level, distractibility, task persistence, and reflective behavior, 8) Processing Efficiency – processing instructions and developing a strategy for accomplishing the goal, and 9) Adaption – establish and maintain a relationship and stay involved.

A graduate of Tennessee Tech University, Kristie has a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies and holds Tennessee teacher certification. Kristie has several years prior work experience having taught at Parkview, Sycamore, Jere Whitson and Algood Elementary schools in Putnam County. She was also the previous Assistant Director for Creative Learning in Cookeville. Kristy and her husband Collins and their rambunctious dogs live in Bloomington Springs.
