Areas of supervision and instruction include the following:
Daily Academic Instruction (Phonemic Awareness, Math and Writing).
Gross Motor Activities (outdoor play equipment is the proper size and level of challenge).
Fine Motor Materials (puzzles, pegs and pegboards, geoboards, cutting and pasting, bead stringing and table toys).
Language and Reasoning (daily story time, wide selection of books for the childs inspection, recorded stories and songs, picture card games).
Art (art materials available for individual expression daily, weekly special projects including three dimensional material, paints and collage materials).
Music (simple instruments for weekly activities including marching acting out movements and dancing with props).
Nature and Science (materials are rotated for a variety of themes, games and activities are offered weekly and children are encouraged to bring and share natural things).
Gail has six years experience as a Pre-K Teacher, Kindergarten Teacher, 1st Grade Teacher and Music and Choral Instructor for grades 1-9 in a private Christian School. She has been a Sylvan Learning instructor for 5 years and a year with Putnam County Schools as a substitute teacher. She has also completed college classes in Early Childhood Development and Music.
Gail enjoys music, especially singing, and enjoys time spent with her four children and two grandchildren. Gail originally hailed from Maryland where she resided for 27 years. She home schooled her four children, who are now 28, 26, 24 and 19, for five years before beginning to teach. Gails past personal experiences also include a career as a flight attendant for 10 years and showing and breeding Yorkshire Terriers.and showing and breeding Yorkshire Terriers.
