The purpose of the Community Education Program at PLA is to share professional resources and talents within our Upper Cumberland region. We seek to establish a better understanding of the diverse needs and strengths of students with learning differences.
There is also a growing recognition that the need to understand educational difference is a family matter. PLA staff conducts in-service sessions at other schools and offers practical experiences for university students. PLA periodically sponsors free community seminars for parents and other interested individuals on such topics as Child Discipline, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. |
