To be intelligent is to have the ability to understand, to learn, and to use what you learn and understand. But, there are many different ways to be intelligent or smart. Some students are smart when it comes to fixing and building things, while others are good with words. Some students show great intelligence in mathematics, but have trouble spelling or learning a foreign language. Fortunately most students are naturally interested in play and work that relates to their strongest areas of intelligence. Appreciating and supporting a students special intelligence gives the child greater opportunities to develop her abilities, find a job, and become a successful adult.
